<p> 据介绍，《雅达利 50：周年庆典》的核心是交互式时间线，它将历史琐事、数字文物、超过 60 分钟的采访内容、纪录片片段和可玩的游戏结合到一个有凝聚力的体验中。</p>
<p> 玩家可以在《雅达利 50：周年庆典》中体验超过 100 款游戏，跨越七个不同的平台：街机、2600、5200、7800，雅达利 8-bit 计算机、Jaguar 和 Lynx，可游玩到经典的《Tempest 2000》《Asteroids》和《亚尔斯复仇记》等，并了解开发者讲述的游戏的创作过程和运行的硬件等。</p>

<p> 雅达利自 1972 年成立以来被多个实体拥有，目前由法国游戏发行商雅达利 SA(原英宝格)的子公司雅达利互动公司(Atari Interactive, Inc.)持有。最初的雅达利有限公司(Atari, Inc.)是由诺兰布什内尔和泰德达布尼于 1972 年在美国加利福尼亚州森尼韦尔成立，是街机、家用电子游戏机和家用电脑的早期拓荒者。</p>

<p> 雅达利还有一项事件在游戏史上影响深远，1983 年，雅达利花高价买下电影《ET》的版权并将其改编为游戏，整个制作过程只用了 6 个星期，面世后引发恶评如潮，雅达利也被分拆出售。这一事件正好时值美国游戏业大萧条，此次大萧条终结第二世代的电视游戏市场，使部分北美地区开发电视游戏的公司被迫宣告破产，对美国和加拿大的游戏市场影响深远，也被称为雅达利大崩溃(Atari Shock)。</p>
