<p> 游戏的主角 Gomez 生活在在二维世界，它过着平淡无奇地生活，直到一个高次元的存在赋予了它一顶红色的小帽子 Fez，这顶帽子让 Gomez 可以在不同的二维世界之间移动。Gomez 通过它看到了一个神奇的六面体在空中快速旋转，还没等他反应过来，就爆炸成了无数碎片。紧接着游戏花屏、复位、重启，Gomez 又开始了平凡的一天，它惊讶地发现：自己所处的 2D 世界突然多出了一个维度，它有了四个不同的位面，组合成一个另类的 3D 世界。与此同时主角 Gomez 也被被告知现在的世界处于崩坏的边缘，需要它去收集分布在各处的立方体来拯救这个世界。于是 Gomez 就这样踏上了寻找立方体的旅途。</p>
